Completely different experience in Chiang Mai vs Bangkok. Less English, slower pace, much more traditional values. Women from smaller northern towns are often more serious about marriage and less experienced with foreign men. That can be wonderful or overwhelming depending on what you’re looking for.

Isan women — from the northeast — are underrated. Very family-oriented, hardworking, less exposed to tourist culture. The language barrier is bigger, but the intentions tend to be cleaner. I’d take that trade every time.
