The woman you talked to online is different in person — more alive, more expressive, harder to read. Body language, energy, how she acts around her friends — you can’t get any of that on video. My online impression was 70% accurate. The other 30% was better than expected.

Visit before you’re emotionally invested. I made the mistake of talking online for four months before flying out. By then I was half in love with someone I’d never met. When the in-person version was slightly different from the online version, it hit harder than it should have. Go earlier.
